KAZAKH MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS MET WITH UAE FOREIGN MINISTER
ASTANA. May 13. KAZINFORM Kazakh Minister of Transport and Communications Abelgazy Kussainov informed UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Mohammed Gargash on the transit potential of Kazakhstan at the meeting held yesterday, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Ministry.
The sides also discussed the process of development of the transport sector of Kazakhstan, realization of big projects both in road-transport and railway sectors and in the field of civil aviation and water transport.
Besides, figures in the field of cargo traffic and passenger traffic on every type of transportation were named. In the field of civil aviation there are regular flights between the two states held by Kazakhstani and UAE airlines.
The flights are carried out on the basis of the Memo on mutual understanding as of May 1, 1995.
Anwar Mohammed Gargash expressed readiness to develop cooperation between the two countries in the transport field and interest in increase of flights number on equal terms.
Summing up the results of the meeting the Head of the Kazakh Ministry expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation and readiness of the Kazakh side to consider proposals submitted to the draft Treaty on air traffic and prepare it for signing in the nearest future.
