PRESIDENT LAUNCHES CELEBRATION OF 12TH ANNIVERSARY OF ASTANA
ASTANA. July 4. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakh President N.Nazarbayev has opened festive events devoted to the 12th anniversary of Astana today.
By tradition the celebration of the Day of the City was started with the National Flag raising ceremony at "Atameken" Ethno-memorial complex.
The ceremony of presenting officers epaulettes to graduates of military academies of the country was held there as well.
The President of the country, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces handed over the officer epaulettes to the graduates of the Military Institute of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications, Military Institute of Land Forces, Military Institute of the Defense Ministry, etc.
The opening ceremony will be accomplished by honor guards marching of the Republican Guard, Defense Ministry and the Internal Affairs Ministry of Kazakhstan.
