OPENING OF “KHAN SHATYR” TRADE ENTERTAINMENT CENTER

According to the festive actions devoted to the Capital’s Day, on July 5, 2010 at 10 p.m. a grand opening of “Khan Shatyr”, trade-entertainment centre will be held at the square near “Khan Shatyr” TEC.

The grandiose construction locks the main axis of the “new” city centre beginning with the President’s Palace. The centre will be one of the most important urban objects. “Khan Shatyr” TEC, a unique complex, was designed by the famous English architect Norman Foster.

Crowning the northern end of the new city’s axis, it will be elevated on 200 metre ellipsoid foundation. The name itself speaks to the citizens and guests about the great show they are going to see. The view is like transparent mass of steppe tent put with the hand of nomad-giant. Seized with the mast, with the length of 150 metres the cable reticulate structure will be seen in front of amazed visitors. Being the highest point of a new capital and the most spacious entertainment centre of Central Asia “Khan Shatyr” will be seen from everywhere. The architectural-building conception calls to “fight” with the severe climate situation of ancient Saryarka. There some natural landscape zones will be presented in a new entertainment centre of Astana.

Harmony of light, humidity and temperature will be controlled during the whole year and will become the main condition of comfort for capital citizens. There is much greenery, at that it presents different climate zones on stepped terraces, much light everywhere. The tropical water garden, wavy swimming-pool, river and waterfall will ideally included into architectural project of the building. All this can be admired from the upper terrace equipped with observation ground with the view to the whole park. The space of “Khan Shatyr”, trade-entertainment centre, has been thoroughly thought over: the main aim of zones disposition became the achievement of maximum comfort for the guests. Thus, zero level has a hypermarket with direct access from closed parking. Comfortable elevators bring shopaholics from the first level of beautiful boutiques which is situated in so called zone of retail trade – in the hall above the hypermarket. All this space is open, therefore it is visible well. Closed parking for 700 parking places is also on the zero level. Also there is an open outside parking also for 700 parking places which is connected with the main building of the centre by means of outside roofed passages.

The project with the giant transparent tent will become the leisure and commerce centre with mini-ground for playing golf, small lake, botanic gardens, roofed beaches, beauty centres and cosmetic salons, concert halls, luxury condominiums, cafes, offices, 5star hotels with the trade centre. “Khan Shatyr” is considered to be one of the biggest in the world. This project is original because the climate inside is controlled with the help of modern automatics.

Dramatized show “Nomad’s camp” is being prepared. The action “Nomad’s camp” is reminiscence of the past. As you know, the moment of nomads’ changing the place was not only the lifestyle of ancestors of modern Kazakhs but also it was a special exciting holiday after long winter stop.
